Here are some ideas for quick, easy and fun birthday party snacks. Finger Sandwiches Finger sandwiches are easy to make and easy for the kids to eat. It might be fun to serve a variety of types. Peanut butter and jelly(assuming no one is coming who is allergic), ham and cheese, and chicken salad easy to make. If you want to be more creative, use cookie cutters that match the theme to make sandwiches in fun shapes. You could also add a toothpick to each sandwich with an added surprise, such as a small piece of fruit or a party favor. Pigs In A BlanketKids love the miniature hotdogs. You can buy them in the frozen food section or make your own. All you need is a pack or two of the mini franks and some crescent roll dough. Remove the dough from the package and separate the rectangles. Knead the crescent seams to together and cut the rectangle into 8 smaller ones. Wrap each of these around a mini frank. Put them in the oven for the recommended baking time for the crescent rolls. Serve them with either ketchup or mustard for dipping. They are delicious! Kabobs are lots of fun, and they are really easy to make. Don’t worry about grilling. You can easily make some that the little ones will love. Instead of using the large kabob sticks, use toothpicks to spear grapes, small berries, and cubes of fruit and cheese. You could also cut up some lunch meat and add them for extra flavor if you like. If the children are really young, you might want to cut the sharp ends off of the toothpicks with a pair of strong scissors when you're done. It's a good idea to make plenty of these, because they're usually quite popular. These are delicious and perfectly kid sized. Just buy some mini bagels, spaghetti sauce or marina and some shredded cheese. Put a couple of tablespoons of pizza sauce on the each bagel half and top with the cheese. Pop them in the oven at 400 degrees for about 7-8 minutes or until the cheese is melted in bubbly. You could also add vegetables such as mushrooms or green peppers as well as sausage or pepperoni for more flavor as well. Serve an assortment of fruit such as grapes, pineapple, apples and oranges in foil muffin wrappers. Since kids love to dip, try making a yogurt dip as well. This is a cute and healthy party snack the kids will love. |
