Organization doesn’t come naturally to me. One of my college roommates was biologically neat, and all things considered, she was surprisingly patient with me. However, though not naturally organized, I like order and feel troubled without it. I was trying to do something about this when necessity, in the form of motherhood, forced me to become a neater, more organized person. Not that my house is, by any stretch of the imagination, neat as a pin. I don’t suppose that’s possible with a toddler in the house. But for those of you who are as unorganized as I, I have compiled a list of the things I’ve learned about housework:

When clutter takes control of your home it becomes overwhelming. Making a step by step plan is the key to getting your house back in order. Walk through the house and make notes of what needs to be done in each room. Once you have a list, make a goal to complete at least one thing off the list each day. Keep the list where you can see it.

Spring Clean Out: Games for the Family Its spring time, the birds are chirping, the flowers are blooming, and the squirrels are chasing each other right into the street. Not sure why, but I think it has something to do with hormones. We are all getting the spring time jitters; spring is a great time to do a Spring Clean Out. Your home is an extension of your mind. If your home is full of clutter, then what do you think your mind is filled with? Yep, you got it! It’s not likely it would be filled with organized thoughts and serenity. |
