I love my daughter. Adore her! But I have no come to realise just how hard a clingy baby can be :lmao

Now, I do have to say that Sasha is a fairly social baby and generally goes to other people, babies, the cat, etc.

This weekend, James was at a martial arts seminar, so it was just me and the baba. Yesterday we went out for a long walk around the area. Today, it rained. And rained, and then rained some more. So we were stuck indoors.

Now I had a kitchen to tackle amongst other things. But do you think I could get anything done? Nope. Little one HOWLED if I put her in her highchair or bouncer or her jumper. Not just whinged, but cried like she was in pain and distress. I sling her but trying to wash up with boiling water isn't great when you have a baby slung on your hip.

And then putting her on the floor to play was a no no if she was on her tummy. Plus she seems to have forgotten how to roll. And fought me over her solids. It took me an HOUR to get her to take 2 mouthfuls (small) of carrot. I'm honestly getting sick of the daily fight to get her to eat solids. SO far she has only liked pear. And even that was more on the blah scale for her.

James gets back and she is happy to see him and cuddles him. But later on when she wakes from a nap, she wails unless I'm holding her. I have never seen her this clingy. I do (secretly) find it adorable that she is having such a mama day and only wants me. The smiles she has been giving me just melt my heart. But it is trying. And there are still lots of dirty dishes in my sink!!

ah parenthood. the joys of it all.

is she getting a tooth by any chance? give her gums a check.
i hope you are able to get some cleaning done soon. i know how hard it is to watch the house get messier and messier and not be able to clean it cause of a cranky baby

O she has been teething for months now but my hunch is that she is getting a tooth now. Actually I wouldn't be surprised if she got a few teeth.

Once in my arms or beside me, she was blissfully happy. And listening to her babbles has me in awe. I love her saying dada and her little singsong voice is gorgeous. She is also pushing up on her hands and feet and getting her bum in the air so I think crawling will be on the agenda next.

wow, i cant believe its close to crawling time for her!
dawson has 2 teeth and i think the 3rd is getting ready for an apperance.
hes sitting up on his own, but still needs someone to catch him so he doesnt fall back on his head or forwards and bang his face

ah the bangs LOL Sasha has been sitting up for about 2 months now but we had many a banged head and huge tears from that. All part and parcel. I'm half dreading the standing, cruising and walking part! All I see now are potential dangers to my baby!

Aww I completely understand. Caleb was like that and only wanted Mama for about the first year. I hope that she lets you set her down enough to get things done. :squeeze it gets so frustrating then they go and be so darn cute you can't be mad. :giggle

Elizabeth is doing the same thing. Yesterday, we went to bed VERY early because she got on both of our last nerves. Teething sucks. Right now, she is tearing up the cat's scratching post. Why am I allowing this? So I can be online for a few minutes and it's keeping her happy.:guilty
As Bill Clinton says, "I feel your pain."

ohhh you are bringing back memories here- the seperation anxiety stage - fun! (and i have to head back into it again don't i?) errmm... advice? It will eventually pass is about the best advice i can give on this one, it is a case of them eventually finding some inner calm and becoming happier with the idea... mine eventually did, knowing that doesn't make the idea of that stage any easier again though as it nearly drove me loopy!!!!

Would a back carry work to get things done when you absolutely have to? Chase used to be happy in the door bouncer if she could see me, Jude and Dyl would occasionally substitute Chase for me for brief periods but that doesn't help you either! (will for your next one though whenever you decide on a second!)

As for the solids Dyl was a complete moo- she was very opinionated on flavours, textures and eventually she just went with finger foods via baby led weaning- she was not buying into the mushed vegetables thing! She's not a bad eater for a toddler now though (3 tomorrow :eek) Have you tried leaving her in a high chair with a variety of foods in front of her and seeing what she does? i did this with Moo (dyl) and Jude and it worked pretty well

Beka - would you believe, once James started feeding her today and yesterday, she ate an entire BOWL of carrot? It would seem that she just doesn't like me feeding her. Which isn't good for her as James is working on site the next few days LOL

I am thinking that I will see how it goes. I refuse to let food become a battleground. Next up is apricot but I'm not going to force it. The main reason I am trying her one food at a time for a few days is because of her huge possibility of being a coeliac and having other food intolerances. As much as i would just like to mix and match and give her anything that she would like the taste of, I have to be vigilant about introducing new foods. So far so good though :D

Try a johnny jumper that you can put in the door way where you are. Now my dad of all people told me to add about a teaspoon on so of Breast milk or fourmal to the solid food and they will eat it worked!

We have a johnny jumper and usually she likes it but this past weekend, 2 minutes was her limit LOL She just didn't want to be out of my arms. She is doing better now though. I do think it was just teething and the fact that she has a horribly stuffed up nose right now.

I guess she just loves her mama a whole heap LOL

LOL She is a little scamp alright. But she ate the whole bowl for me today :D I was chuffed and she was loving it. And instead of apricot we have a ton of butternut squash and sweet potato that will probably keep us going for the next month :giggle

Jude always asks "what's wrong with that tatoe" if he sees sweet potato :lmao (also told my sister her squash "looks like a willy my dad said so" - ahhhh the joy of raising boys :shakehead )

LOL David and James really have to meet. They both seem to have similar sense of humour.
James martial arts uniform is called a "gee" (pro gee with the g same as in giggle). Over here, that is also slang for a woman's girlie bits. So everytime they are talking about the gees, James can't help but giggle like a little girl :rofl Has me in stitches going how about how soft or hard their gees are LOL

:lmao ohhh yes- they'd get on like a house on fire (david just bought a load of pgtips to get the free monkey so he can ask people at work to admire his monkey... sad sad little man :rofl )

Erika

:rofl Or he can slap the monkey :hehe Can't bear the new pgtips ads mainly because I have a vicious dislike of Johnny Vegas!

you're not wrong there- he seems like the sad pathetic pitiful man you find in every sad little bar. The monkey is still cool though :dance
