So just before 6 this morning we are woken up to a guy and woman screaming at each other and then I heard kids crying The woman then starts running door to door saying HELP. She had the kids with her and they were barely dressed. So I opened my door and let her come in with her kids(ages were 6,4 and a baby maybe 8 months??)she starts saying stuff and is completely incoherant. So I take her kids upstairs and wrap them in blankets and turn on cartoons for them and I keep trying to get out of her what happened. She said her boyfriend was hurting her dd(4)and they started fighting so she STABBED him. I was like OMG and I told Steve to call the cops. The lady then hands her baby to me AND LEAVES. So I told the cops what was going on and told them that we also need child services out here or something because she left her kids with me. Then we hear her knocking on the door asking us to call her a cab, so we open the door and she is there and so is the guy but he didn't come anywhere close to our door, I didn't see him dh did. She said she needs a cab to take this guy to hospital. The dispatcher(still on the phone to 911)said to stall her. So I told her to come inside and leave him out there and to be with her kids. So she did.

They sent 4 cop cars out here and at first she didnt want to give us his name, didn't want to implicate him(typical battered wives syndrome I guess)but gave the cop his name(turns out they knew him ) The cops asked if she stabbed him and she then said that she was trying to protect her dd and cut him. So I have no clue whether or not she stabbed or just cut him. She had no blood whatsoever on her.

After making sure he was gone(out of her house) the cops took her back to her house. I guess she had a restraining order against him but let him in to see the kids and I guess he had been drinking etc.....

I can't get these poor kids out of my mind. When I was on the phone to 911 I told her that I couldn't NOT open the door because they are just babies and she said yeah isn't it sad though that they have seen all this before, if they hadn't they would be totally freaking out and clinging to an adult and they were just sitting watching cartoons I just feel so bad that these poor kids have to grow up like this, with barely a chance. They were dirty and not even dressed properly(the girl had on ski pants and a top NO underwear or pants even. She ran them out of the house so quickly they didnt' even have shoes on

My heart is breaking for those poor kids I can't seem to get them out of my head.

hopefully your calling 911 will have helped get child services involved some and help get them all to a happier state of affairs- sounds like she needs as much help to get herself right as the kids do.

That is so sad. :( I hope that child services got involved with those kids after that. It just breaks my heart to think of children so used to things like that going on around them that it did not even bother them.
