I did prenatal yoga with Elizabeth until I was 4 months and started bleeding. It was brown but I was dutiful and called the doctor. The doctor I saw at the practice was a senior partner and a very gentlemanly old Lebanese man. He advised me to stop having such "vigorous marital relations" with my husband! I told him it was yoga and he thought that was my code word for sex. Hehehehe! Anyhoo, he told me to "take it easy" and to not do anything that exerted me. So, I quit excercising on a regular basis and got huge...

:lmao at your vigorous marital relations- that's a phrase I shall hang onto for when the kids are older :rofl

My main excercise when pg is walking- i still have to get places, we still have no car so I'm still walking 10K+ even at 8/9 months pregnant. On a plus side it makes for really straight forward labours :giggle I've never been a small woman (US 10-12 is my smallest, US 12-14 is my average and us 14-16 is my BIIIG everyone starts asking am i pg again size LOL) but I've never really gained weight in pregnancy either, only baby & water - in fact I've actually lost weight in 2 of them.

I walked a lot, plus did yoga and swam...and still put on a ridiculous amount of weight.

I glowed though, and my blood pressure was perfect so my doctor really wasn't too concerned about it all.

Nope....I generally feel too crappy when I'm pregnant to think about much of anything other than surviving. My first pregnancy I was only sick up until 20 weeks, so I did do a little walking with that one. But I don't think I exercised at all with the other three.
I do get very weak and my muscles just sort of atrophy from me laying down and doing the bare minimum for so long...I remember it being hard to shut the back gate of my van.

I gained varying amounts of weight from 18 pounds to 50 pounds(that was the last one! LOL), but I've managed to lose it all each time. And I usually lose too much weight at the beginning of my pregnancies, so exercise wouldn't be a good idea then even if I could manage it.

I didn't, but in hindsight I can see that was a mistake. Next time around, I plan on keeping up with the walking workouts I do (although not as long or intense) through the pregnancy.

No, not I. However, my kickboxing instructor is due on Monday and she could still kick my ass! LOL

I think it's a great thing to do and it must make recovery so much easier!
