View Full Version : Questions about them missing school?
SO Dylan had surgery earlier this year, his gma died, he's been sick, etc.... & has missed alot of school. He has managed to stay on top of his school work and still has straight a's. My question is, the other day the nurse called me & said Dylan has a bad headache. I told her to give him Tylenol and send him back to class, he had missed school 2 days earlier because he said he was sick and I missed work to stay home with a kid who obviously could have went to school! So about 45 minutes later she calls me back and says he needs to come home. I drive to town to get him and there is nothing wrong with him! I do think he had a headache, but that doesn't warrant leaving school and me missing yet another day of work! I took him back to school after having him with me for about 30 minutes and he stayed all day with no problems. So where do you draw the line nad say enough is enough? I think the nurse was really mad that brought him back, but I guess if she wants to pay my bills she can send him home anytime!
If there was nothing wrong with him I'd have planted his booty back at school, too! :) I don't get it, first they complain if the kid misses too many days and threaten that s/he won't pass that year, but then they call and insist you pick him/her up and get mad when you bring the child back when it becomes obvious s/he isn't sick. It's like, make up your mind! Do you want the kid here or not?
I know Mary!!!! I was so angry at Dylan and the longer I thought about it,the madder I got at the nurse! He complained of a headache nothing more, so she should have sent him to class, maybe had him lay down, but to call and bug me 3 times until she finally said come get him!
I know she was mad when I brought him back, but there was no reason for it!

that's a load of crap on the nurse's part. Unless if the child is bleeding or puking, they should stay at school. Is this nurse a decent person or does she have something against you at all? Oh well!! I hope she understands your position!
This nurse is kinda weird. My Mom works at the school, so I have told the kids to go see Grandma first! LOL
