I found a lump just under my jaw in my neck. It is like a little hard pebble. It doesn't hurt and I will be going to my doctor next week just to check it out.
What could it be? should I be worried? There is no redness that I have noticed and it doesn't move much. I have a dry throat that is a bit sore but that could be completely unrelated LOL
It could be a lymph node. Mine get swollen when I am getting sick. I also get a hard lump there when I have a cold sore coming on. I don't know if you are lucky enough to have those though.

I was thinking a lymph node also. :hugs
If it is a lymph node, there will be a matching one on the other side of the neck, same place same size.
Sounds like a swollen lymph node too. I am covered in lumps,I have far too many to count all over my body. I still haven't been to have a biopsy. However my brother has the same ones too so it looks like it is genetic.
Try not to worry too much. Also nodes can take a few weeks to go down once they have been swollen.

I only have one on the right side of my neck. It probably is an infection or something. Or just tiredness.
thanks girlies :D

Erika I have a small cyst b/t the bottom of my ear and my jaw bone on the left side. I have had it since 5th grade. It doesn't really bother me, I mean it doesn't hurt or anything. It's just a small (maybe pea-sized or a little larger) hard mass. Let us know what the doctors say...
i have the theory if it's a lump it's worth poking and pointing it out to a dr "just in case" (some may call it hypercondria, i call it self preservation ;) ) but yep, especially if you're feeling run down i'd also say most likely lymph gland-type-what-not - have you had/could you have glandular fever or a relapse of it? It can relapse for years after you initially have it and that's usually a sign it's flaring up again when i have a flare up (with a manky throat, general listlessness and banging headaches)

You better have learned from my crap girlie that you always get that stuff checked out! ;) Of course, I'm a freak of nature so by no means think it's anything like what I had/have. lol
I would bet that it's a lymph node and at worst it could be a calcified nodule which is usually no big deal. Get it checked, do what they tell you, and reward yourself with chocolate for being a good girl. lol.

mmmm chocolate LOL You have me sold, Jo. The lump has gotten smaller but I am still getting it checked out (just haven[t managed to get to the doctors yet). I have moles to get looked at anyway.
No I am honestly NOT a hypochondriac!
