I thought we should have one of these threads monthly. What are you working on this month?

Unfortunately, nothing. I've decided no knitting or reading until I get the house better organized.

I just cast on for Percy (http://knitty.com/ISSUEfall07/PATTpercy.html) with some yarn that Dave rejected for his gloves. When his yarn gets here, I'll cast those on as well. I also have a steering wheel cover I started out of a bright lime green cheap yarn. It's almost done.

I'm sewing the bottom seam in a bag that needs to be felted. After that I need to get the house in order before I start anything else. If I manage to get the house under control in time, I have some fancy fur (uuggghhhh) for a scarf and hat for mil's birthday, and I have a whole list of ideas I would love to get started for our niece's birthday in February.

I have one sleeve left to sew into the baby sweater.

I started a pair of the Comfy Socks (http://www.knittingdaily.com/freepatterns/legwear/26-1.html) from Knitscene, because my feet are freezing!

I'm working on a Moderne Baby Blanket that was going to be for the friend I'm giving the baby sweater to, but it's so big that I've decided it will be for Thomas.

needles have gone away and the machine is back out (sewing machine, not knitting machine- my mother would disown me if i used one of those over needles! LOL) as it's heading into the nicer weather soon so it's summer dress & short making time! (I have some awesome 50s style patterns to try for me too :D )

Beka, I got a sewing machine for Christmas, and I tried it out yesterday - amazing what you can do with a good machine! The one I'd been using was my grandmother's, and it was just not a good machine, even though I had it repaired many a time. I'm keeping it for sentimental reasons, but I won't be using it now. I am not the best seamstress, but I'm pretty excited about learning how to make sewn garments.

I was knitting a baby alpaca sweater, but I made the mistake of washing the pieces and they grew like mad, so I need to rip them out and start over. Grrr. I also have two socks on the needles, each the second of a pair. One is super easy - Elizabeth Zimmermann's Woodsman socks. The other is really difficult. It's the Sweetheart socks from the holiday Interweave. I'm also about to cast on for Gabriel's jacket now that I have a good swatch (in the round no less - I was good this time). Oh, and I am designing a lace scarf for my mother.

Mine was a birthday gift from David last year- my mother has a serger which is awesome, mine is just a little regular machine but does the job nicely!
