Did You Have a Drink During Pregnancy?

No, I'm not implying that anyone here is a lush! I mean the occasional drink.

Yes, I did. I had 3 glasses of red wine, at a good-bye dinner, four days before I found out. After that, none till the second trimester. All told, I had about 10 drinks throughout my entire pregnancy, Christmas Mulled Wine Punch included. Oh-and I stuck to wine and cider. (I don't drink beer anyhow-hate the taste!)

I had a Margarita before I realized I was pregnant with Liam, but that's it. I don't think a drink here and there throughout pregnancy is really a big deal - I'm just not a drinker.

I went out with some friends and had quite a few drinks about a week before I found out I was pg with Liam, and I don't normally drink! After I found out I didn't have any, I think I had a sip of beer maybe the whole pregnancy.

No, but it's just because I'm not big on alcohol. I really only like wine spritzer sort of stuff that tastes more like juice than like alcohol. :o

It was actually kind of funny, because I generally don't drink--I don't think I've had anything to drink in the last year, at least--but we had decided to take a short break from TTC that fall, and I decided to try to enjoy it, and so I had a couple of beers and a cosmopolitan while I was at back-to-school parties at the start of September. And, of course, I had gotten pregnant in August, when we had sex once the entire month, but I didn't realize I was pregnant at the time. But my nurse practicioner assured me that I hadn't drunk nearly enough to be concerned (I think it probably totalled about 2 drinks).

I think I had about half a glass of champagne at a New Year's Party that winter, but that was the only time I drank when I knew I was pregnant. I honestly think that an occasional drink while pregnant is fine, but since I don't really drink anyway, it's not like I was going to start while I was pregnant just to prove a point. ;)

Only before I found out and when I did find out I was scared that I had done something to the baby. I was young and not at all thinking about kids and the week before I partied HARD. Few bottles of wine and a lot of pot between me and a friend of mine.

After that, not a drop and I was a partier before that, but I just knew I couldn't do that, it didn't even cross my mind to have one.

Yes I think I have probably had a few every time before I found out but I am not a big drinker so it wasn't many.

None with Adia, I don't think. With Francesca, a few sips of champagne at New Year's and a quarter glass of wine when I was a week past my EDD. mw's "orders" LOL (Well, she told me to relax.)

I sipped a few things at the end with Rai. We were at a friend's cabin and I am not sure I should even call them sips. I pretty much stuck my tongue in a couple shots that were poured for me but couldn't actually drink.

I don't drink when I am pg because I only like beer and the moment my body notices that it is pregnant, it tastes like ass. That is actually how I know to take a pregnancy test.

when pg with Georgia I had half a glass of wine, felt horrible and threw it out and it was during my last trimester.

The few weeks leading up to discovering I was pregnant with Maia coincided with me turning 21 - so more than a few drinks were had.

Once I knew I was pregnant - 2 sipped at, but not finished glasses of champagne at two different significant birthday parties, about 6 weeks apart, but both in my third trimester.

I had 2 glasses of wine (very small glasses) while pregnant with Colin (towards the end and not the same night or even week). One was at a passion party and the other was a wedding or something I can't even remember.

Before I knew I was pregnant, we went on a full-day poker run on the motorcycle, and I probably had 8 beers that day. Yikes. Then I had an occasional glass of wine or beer throughout my pregnancy, maybe once every 3-4 weeks.

I had a few drinks at New Years before I knew I was pregnant with Takara. With David, I has about 1/4 of a glass of wine at my sister's wedding after I knew I was pregnant.

The one and only time I was pregnant, I was 16 years old. So no.

Nope, - first pregnancy I was too young to legally drink (and was also overcoming alcohol related issues due to a bad, bad phase in my life that had left me with jaundice) so wasn't drinking at all then.

Second pregnancy onwards I realised how difficult it is for me to GET pregnant and so I wasn't doing anything that might even be slightly linked with messing up a pregnancy, by my final pregnancy I was so damned paranoid about everything because by then i'd learnt what it took me not only to GET pregnant but also to remain pregnant once i'd conceived that I really, really wasn't even breathing out of line let alone doing something drs still hadn't quite decided if it was/wasn't harmful.

All that being said I think drinking in moderation is acceptable in pregnancy when you have no other known health conditions risking the pg

And that being said I also think no matter what we do we can't carry the guilt of m/cs because shit happens and sadly there are very, very few in this world could ever be prevented even with the most cautious of living, if they're going to happen sadly they do.
