im trying to pick one out.
im stuck between the medela pump in style advanced and the advent IQ duo isis i think its called.
Ive read many reviews, they both have their pros and cons so im looking for some opinions. We rented the medela symphony when i had gideon and it worked well and than i bought the avent hand held and it was crap.
Im big breasted and see medela has the optional sizing of the horns that the avent does not..
so what would you suggest or add that might help with my decision here?

I can't say much other than I am large breasted, 34J, and the Pump in Style worked great for me. I used it for four months in 2002, heavily (8 times a day), and for six months the second time in 2004 (1-2 times a day). But that was just the regular one. No "advanced" back then. LOL
When I researched the Avent one I couldn't find anything but complaints about it, whereas people always seem to have raves about Medela. I had a Pump in Style and it worked great....baby wouldn't take a bottle but I'd sure have been well-set if he would have. ;)

I had the medela and I have nothing but raves on it... sorry if that's not much help. I pumped heavily in the beginning, then about 2x a day towards the end. When I was done, I handed it off to my friend who used it for a good year. I bfd for nearly 3 years and dd was a strictly bfd baby. I highly recommend pump in style :D

What are you planning to use it for? Will you be going back to work or is it just to use for the occasional pumping?
Answers to those questions will help determine what kind of pump would be most helpful. :)

I used the Medela. I think more people have experience with it, so you'll be able to find more help and support if you need it. I'm also large breasted (40 DDD) and it was great.

I pumped every day throght two breastfed kids with my PIS, and I have nothing but raves for it. Also, I have huge breasts. Really huge, However, I never needed the bigger horns.
I had (have) tommee tippee closer to nature manual pump and it is a fabulous pump, easy and comfortable to use, easy to clean (even came with it's own box for microwave sterilising) bottles that fit with it are nice too... only down side was a baby who will not for love nor money drink EBM - he likes his fresh from the source :lmao
Avent however are meant to have fabulous customer service/repairs service too.

its just going to be for occasional pumping.
i had a real hard time with gideon and my supply and basically pumped around the clock... but had to rent the pump at 70 bucks a month. So i figure i might as well invest into one this time around.
beka...i would love the tommy tippee, i ordered some bottles on line but have to have them shipped to my family in the uk and than mailed over here...not too sure about having them do that for the breast pump.
i think the medela is the one we are goign to get..just wanted to see what other advice was out there, thanks
