With me returning to work full-time we are seriously considering hiring a maid/housework service to come in once a week (preferably on Fridays before the weekend) to tidy up, dust, bathrooms, etc.

We used to. It was the best wedding present we got. My parents gave us a year of weekly maid service. They forgot to cancel it so it actually lasted more than 2 years. We had to fire them when the keys they had went 'missing'. We made them pay for a locksmith to change our locks. Unfortunately we haven't been able have help since.

I really miss it and when Dave gets a job again, I am thinking about getting some help.

I wish. I'm working pretty much full-time now and Eric is not a great housekeeper when he's now working. My Maid Service is named Mom. ;) When he goes back to work full-time, I think I want someone to come in and do the big stuff, like the floors and bathroom, every other week. That would be fantastic.

I used to have a lady who came in and did the floors and the ironing once a week. It was heaven! Unfortunately, she got quite ill, and we couldn't find anyone else we could afford.

We plan on doing this some day - does that count? LOL I tend to feel like I should be doing everything myself, but as Daniel pointed out, we both hate housework and we're both lousy at it, and if it made us more relaxed and freed us up to do other things, it would be worth the money. I hope it works out for you, Jenny!

I love my housekeeper... I had a bit of a tiff with the agency when they sent me three different women in a 6 week period, but now I'm happy! After working a LONG, HARD week and dealing with a toddler... the last thing on my mind is cleaning up... sorry
