If you are interested in winning a nifty knitting book, it's very simple to enter. Just reply to this post by telling us what you plan to knit in 2008, and I'll throw your name in a knit hat (literally) to be drawn out shortly after Christmas. The book in question is Louisa Harding's Natural Knits for Babies and Moms (http://www.amazon.com/Natural-Knits-Babies-Moms-Beautiful/dp/1596680105/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&s=books&qid=1197917945&sr=1-1), which is a great book to draw on for gifts for new babies, or gifts for pregnant or nursing moms. Louisa Harding used to design for Rowan, and her designs have that classic elegance that is typical of Rowan. All of the designs in this book are fairly simple to make, but they are also really nice looking. If you are on Ravelry, you can check them out here (http://www.ravelry.com/patterns/sources/natural-knits-for-babies-and-moms).

Good luck!

Wow!

Well, so far I've got a pair of red wool fingerless gloves for myself, a dark gray wool Seamless Hybrid for Dave and a Noro Kureyon Booga Bag for myself. The rest is still undetermined. :D

Christine, I'd say that so far, your chances are excellent. ;) C'mon, folks! I know we have more knitters here. :D

Bumping once more! Enter now, or forfeit to Christine! LOL Not that I'd have any objection to sending this book to Christine, but it might seem more like a contest with more than one entrant.

I wish I could enter but I think it might help to know how to knit first before planning projects.LOL

I didn't even see this before.

Ok, according to my Ravelry queue, I'd like to make a Shadow Stripes hat, sampler afghan from Cables Untangled, Wicked, Hello Kitty hat, Love-Heart slippers, Lucha Libre, Sun Ray shawl, Highwayman armwarmers, and a Swallowtail shawl.

Now that's what I'd like to knit. Whether I actually do is a different story.

I need to amend my previous answer. ;) I'm going to still make the sweater for Dave - a seamless hybrid. Also some light gray fingerless gloves for Dave and some fingerless gloves for me out of some Kool-Aid dyed yarn. I've already started the Booga Bag. :giggle

I'm making more of my African baby sweaters - except now they are going to be premature baby sweaters, seeing as how Amnesty have been innundated, and are now asking us to make hats instead...which I will, of course, be doing.

Right now, I have the yarn and needles to make socks, but seeing as they are at home, and I'm not, I guess my striped socks will be also on my 2008 to-knit list.

All righty! Well, I placed all three names in Nora's beret this morning and tried to get her to draw a name, but she recoiled and looked disapprovingly at me putting stuff in her hat without permission, so I had to get another unbiased person to reach in and pull the name. Liam was up to the job, so....

Congratulations, Sabrina! I'll PM you for your address.

And if you didn't win this time, I'll try to have occasional little contests like this, maybe next time for yarn. :)
