Thought this was appropriate.

Okay, now I don't feel so badly about complaining about Eliza's sleep. I always feel guilty when I do because I feel like I should just suck it up and not be such a wuss. That article, though, shows one more reason why a good night's sleep is important and necessary, not a luxury for the lazy. Also it probably explains why I get so torn up about her not sleeping -- my emotions are out of whack!
Thanks for that Wendy (I'll admit the only study I could think of on sleep deprivation was one involving cats where they were kept awake to the point of death- NOT a good one to be posting about)
Interesting stuff and certainly explains alot!
I finally gave in and got sleeping pills and life is so much better. I am not an emotion wreck anymore and a lot nicer to live with. I thought I could survive on 4 hours sleep tops a night for months but I was wrong.

I'm surprised they needed a study to figure that out. Anyone who would spend a day around my children when they are sleep-deprived would be well aware of the connection! And I can mostly certainly see this in myself. When I'm tired, I am not nearly as rational or as patient.
