Right now, I have my YIM music set to the 90s alternative station and I forgot how much I love some of these songs.
Interstate Love Song - Stone Temple Pilots
Closer - Nine Inch Nails
And this one doesn't fall in to the category, but I also LOVE Gold Dust Woman by Fleetwood Mac.

I have a special place in my heart for Closer :eyebrow Love it.
Right now I'm listening to "Summertime" mainly because it is Sasha's favourite song and I sing it to her every day. I love Nina Simone's take on it.
Keeping with that, gotta love Louis Armstrong and Ella Fitzgerald's take on "Dream a little Dream", which, incidently, is myself and James' song.
And anything by Magnetic Fields. Kristen (jejune) turned me onto them. I just adore the vocalists voice. 4
O and Brahms Requiem. About 3 minutes into the second movement always raises the hair on my arms. I couldn't wait to play that for Sasha and she seems to like it.

I'm so boring. I try to listen to other music, but I always come back to Third Day. They just cover everything I love about music. :D

I'm listening to Kaleb's music quite a bit and to be honest with you, mostly I don't know the names of the bands LOL
He and I are going to A Taste of Chaos in a couple of weeks... I'm reallly excited for the time to bond over alternative hard core screamo music with my eldest :lmao

But what I am -- is a mom who is intensely interested in her kids and what they love. I remember my parents having NO CLUE as to what I loved or what I was interested in, and honesty as the oldest kid, that can be a lonely feeling.
I just want him to know that I am interested in everything that he finds interesting :D
And HOW WONDERFUL that your dad has done that for YOU as well !!! :thumbsup
I love so many songs right now and listen to a wide variety of music. It mainly depends on my mood, but a few of my favorites are:

Shana that is so awesome of you :D Taking time to learn about what he likes. That in itself makes you a cool Mom. :D I try to do that as well lucky for me right now it consists of Elmo ,Pirates, Dinosaurs and Star Wars (which is the hardest for me to pretend I am interested in LOL):giggle
As for the thread I have not listened to much lately. But I have had Taylor Swift's cD on constantly.

I have been listening to a lot of Johnny Cash recently. Jo got me his 4 CD set for my birthday and I ran across it the other day in a box of my work stuff.
I really like Trace Adkins new stuff.
Other than that I listen to the local Country station.
I listen to whatever intro music is played on whatever talk radio program I am listening to at the time. I am a loser!LOL

Right this second I am listening to Heather Headley.
In general I have been listening to Anthony Hamilton & John Legend a lot lately. I've also been playing Ivy Queen a lot.
Right now, I'm on a huge Mary Prankster kick, but They Might Be Giants is always on high rotation, with a little bit of Screaming Jay Hawkins, some Verdi and some Johnny Cash...oh, and a crapload of Nick Cave.
I have semi-recently discovered Lily Allen too, so I'm listening to her too.

The Music by David Usher. I have loved him since he was the lead singer in Moist all those years ago and now his newest solo album is coming out and I am so excited, Im like a kid on Christmas Eve. :lmao I LOVE him and ALL of his music. I get excited when I hear his newest on the radio.
