Could you ever tell if you were your mom's or dad's favorite child?

LOL Definetly not. I was not good at..... how shall I put this? Following rules. Thought to be fair I do not think my parents really had favs. they just had different ways of showing their affection with each of us. I was always a Daddy's girl :D But so were my two sisters.

Oh man! From my mom- I was not the favorite at all. She was always going on about how great my brothers were, or how great other girls were (my friends, her friend's kids, acquaintances) and I pretty much got told I was fat, slutty, lazy, etc. (No hard feeling though, right? :violin) With my dad, it was more even but he didn't have as much in common with me as with the boys, he was very active in the things they did but I didn't have much.

I still believe my brother is my parents favorite. And the last 2 times he's come home on leave, we've both made it a point to bring it up to my mom LOL. She sweears that he's not her favorite, but it's sooo obvious lol. I really don't care.. I used to.. but I don't now lol.

My parents never really showed favoritism. My grandparents did though, and I was DEFINITELY their favorite :giggle

I was a favorite of my one grandmother for some reason. It was obvious to me at times. I think I'm the only one she didnt have a major issue with over something stupid.

With my grandparents I think I am my Grandma's fav. :D She is always sending me little somethings and the kiddos little somethings in the mail and i am the only grown up Grandchild who takes the time to call her at times other than special occassions. She spoils me when I am there and even when Iwas in Italy she taped all my fav shows for me for three yrs so I would not miss them while in Italy. And is still taping Grey's for me since i am behind.

my mother no, couldn't tell and to be honest only now would i say i have a better friendship & relationship with her than my sister but i still wouldn't say either of us were her favourite.

With my dad as much as i love him my sister was always his golden girl when we were growing up, i have a good relationship with him now and things my sister does/how she acts in relation to family really upsets him now which i think shows she'll always be favourite as if she wasn't it wouldn't hurt him so much when she's a dick

My grandparents- only ever really known the one, only 3 were living when i was little, 2 of those were never really grandparenty grandparents and they had their favourites in my 2 younger girl cousins but with granny no, never knew right until she died- still have no idea now

Without sounding really arrogant, I think I was my parents' favorite. But, it was mainly because my sister tended to be a lot more distant from the family than I was. I was the one who would hang out with my parents, and if I had a problem I'd go to them, whereas my sister tended to be the one to stay in her room with the door closed. I don't think in any way that they loved me more, but when it came to who they'd rather spend time with, I'd say it was probably me.

Now, though, I'd say it's pretty even.

I was my dad's golden child growing up but he prefers my sister now. :giggle

I have a better relationship with my mom than my sister does, but I doubt she'd say any of us are her favorite.

I'm Steve's favorite person! :giggle

As far as my parents go, I don't know. I really don't think they have favorites, but I do know they were really sad when I left home, probably more sad than they were when my other two siblings left. My little brother is leaving this spring, and I think they will be very sad when he leaves...at least as, if not more sad than they were when I left.

My brother is my mom's favourite. I've always referred to him as the "golden child." It's been more pronounced in the last 10 years, but she'd drop anything to do stuff with him, but not with me. They have deep conversations that last for hours, whereas I'm more standoffish. This isn't to say I'm not close with my mother, because I am, but I've always felt that he got away with a lot more than I did, and she believed/respected/liked him better than me.

My husband has three sisters and no brothers, and they tease him mercilessly about being the family favourite. His mother doesn't deny it.

Yes, I am my father's fave child. It makes me uncomfortable at times, but we're just so much alike it's scary.

My half-brother was my mother's favorite because her life was so much less stress when raising him. Also, when he was one year old, my brother and I (12 and 14) asked to go live with my father. She never really forgave us that insult.

Nope. I have two younger brothers. The baby of the family is everyone's favorite. I don't begrudge that, he's a really terrific guy, it's hard not to like him. He's got a beautiful spirit and is so full of love, he's good-humored, nurturing and was a golden-haired, blue-eyed charmer as a child (now he looks like a professional wrestler and frightens those who don't know him because of his burly, tattooed tough guy exterior, but he's still a charmer). He's a giant teddy bear.

Growing up I always thought my brother was my mums favourite, now everyone says that I am LOL

I know my mum loves us all equally but she has a stronger relationship with me than she does with my brother and sister. My sister is 18 and a PITA and my brother and my mums work schedules clash so they see each other once a week but she comes round here for a cup of tea every day because we live so close and she can pop round in her work break. I am the one she goes too when she is down or happy, she does talk to us all but I know I am the first person she calls when she needs someone or has happy news. Again, she loves us all equally we just have more time to "bond"

Well... my dad always told me that there is something "very special" about your 1st child (who is in this case, me :D). I do think I'm my dad's favorite, but my dad has NEVER treate any of his children differently, he loves us all the same.

We just have a special connection :)

I was always my dad's favorite and Rob was always my mom's favorite. I got the short end of the stick because my mom is in charge!LOL She does love us both equally but she has always melded with my brother's personality far better. My dad and I are much more alike so it was definitely divided along personality lines.
