View Full Version : Should money from the find Madeline fund pay her parents legal fees?
As many of you may have followed the case of the small British girl abducted from her holiday apartment in Portugal in May whilst her parents dined at a local restaurant you will probably be aware of the fund (now around $2 million) to find her donated from the public.
Her parents have recently been declared as suspects- should money from the fund be used to pay their legal fees to clear their names or pitch their defense?

Absolutely not. That is not what the money was donated for and I would consider it fraud if it was used as part of the defense.
That said, I heard they weren't going to use the money.

No way. That is not what those who have donated it intended the money for. I am sure alot of people would be pissed if their money was used that way especially if it turns out the parents had something to do with it.
Not in the least. That money was collected in good faith to help find the child. If they want their legal fees covered they can start a fund for that and see if anyone wants to help them on that score.
