I cannot believe I get to post a thread like this:D

Throw your ideas at me.... we are having a SMALL wedding and the reception will be at my friend Sue's house. Maybe 30 people. I have a good list going, which I will share -- but we are looking for music that indicates love, commitment, joy. NOT looking for boogey down party music LOL

Please leave your suggestions -- keeping in mind that we are NOT AT ALL fans of ANY sort of country type music:thumbsdown Thanks!

Currently on the playlist:

U2: Two Hearts Beat as One, Original of the Species, A Man and a Woman, All Because of You, Sometimes You Can't Make It on Your Own, Miracle Drug, Walk On

Temple Yard (My brother's band): By Your Side

Sting: Sacred Love, After the Rain has Fallen, A Thousand Years

Steven Curtis Chapman: Love and Learn

Snow Patrol: Run

Seal: Waiting for You, Love's Divine

Lenny Kravitz: My Precious Love, Let Love Rule, You Were in My Heart

Jonny Lang: Beautiful One, The One I've Got

Hootie: I'll Come Running

Foo Fighters: Everlong

DMB: #34, #41, Steady as We Go, DreamGirl, Stay, TwoStep

The Brand New Heavies: Higher, You are the Universe, This Feels Like Right, Shelter, Do Right

Barry White: Can't Get Enough of Your Love

Alanis Morrisette: Everything

311: Love Song

I always think that The Fourteenth of February, by Billy Bragg, is a really special song for any couple getting married. It makes me cry.

Ummm....I'll look at my iTunes lists. I have a playlist called something like Mushy Mushy Lovey Mushy Love that is all songs that make me get weepy in a good, romantic way.

OUr wedding song was In My Life by the Beatles and it always brings me to tears. Even before it was my wedding song. I highly recommend it.

The songs you've chosen are beautiful. I'll put on my thinking cap and get back to this tonight after work :D

I gave my word, I made a promise
And I'm gonna keep it til the end
What would I do, if I lost it
There's nothing better than what we have

Somehow in my mind
Always new I'd find my

Beautiful one, Beautiful child, my everything
Beautiful one, Beautiful child

So much you give so much to live for
And I wanna give it all back to you
And If it means pouring my heart out
to show you I love you, then I will

Beautiful one, Beautiful child, my everything
Beautiful one, Beautiful child

To be the one to call you mine
To feel the way I do inside
You're so much more than I ever dreamed
This is forever I believe

Beautiful one, Beautiful child, my everything
Beautiful one, Beautiful child
I know you're what I need
Beautiful one, Beautiful child

Shana- Have you heard of Jonah Matranga? He sang in person at my brother's wedding and everyone was a sobbing mess of joy. My favorite was Halo, I'm trying to find a link to a good version.

Oooh - Shana, I just thought of this, but do you have last.fm? If you set up a profile there, you can enter the names of all the artists on your list and it will make you a custom station that includes similar artists. I've found a lot of new artists/songs I like through there.
