Which is why I :rolleyes when obs on The Baby Story induce or c-section for a baby being "too big" and it comes out 7.5lbs.

That is one huge baby, though, isn't it?

Wow. I cannot even imagine. The child I had naturally was only 5lbs and 6 oz and that was hard enough. LOL

Oh my.... being a person that has such tiny peanut babies, I just cringe when I read about anyone having a baby that big. ESP. naturally! I'm glad everyone is healthy though! That baby is adorable! What a chunker!!

My goodness! Is that woman ever going to be the same?? down there, I mean?? LOL

My sister has had two large boys with abnormally large heads, and despite valiant pushing efforts and a doula and c-section-hating doctor, she's had two c-sections. And sometimes, she says she is maybe glad, because she's not sure her southern parts would have ever recuperated fully! LOL

If the "six-hour struggle" the article mentions means she had to push for six hours, I really feel for her. I pushed for a little over 4 hours with Thomas, and I don't think I could have made it much longer. That's pretty amazing that she was able to deliver him vaginally!

I showed Thomas the picture, and he said, "That baby doesn't want to be so big!" I said, "Well, I think his mom's the one who probably didn't want him to be so big." LOL

And the next sentence in that headline should read..."Her Vagina Immediately Sues for Divorce!"

Yowza.

My biggest was 11 lbs. 4 oz. (no epi, but I did have nubain). I'm trying to imagine 3 more pounds, but I can't wrap my head around it.

Gott in Himmel! What gets me is that he is already 24" long at only a week old. Ouch, ouch, and then ouch some more. My 9-lber was bad enough and I had an epidural. LOL

Yikes!!! My FIL has that one beat though. He delivered a baby the same size but that one was breech. I can't imagine either scenario since that kid would be like giving birth to 2 of mine at the same time. No thanks!

Wow. THat's all I can say to that. LOL

Didn't Mary Beth have a baby that was around that size?

I think Mary Beth's and Polly's were somewhere in the 12 lb range. I still don't know how Mary Beth pushed hers out!

I really don't understand, either! Thomas was a little over 9 lbs, and I was just barely able to get him out. And, I've got childbearing hips. LOL I cannot even imagine a 12 lb. baby, much less one who was 14 lbs.

Personally, if there was any good indication that a baby I was carrying was going to be 14 lbs., I'd schedule a c-section. Given the problems I had delivering Thomas, I honestly don't think I could deliver a baby with a head that was any larger.
