Looks like a tent!! By the time you'd got the thing on, surely baby would be screaming the house down and you'd be attracting more attention than ever?

:lmao

I really like the idea of "discreetly" using a breast pump underneath it. Because it certainly wouldn't draw any attention to someone to be sitting there wearing a tent with a machine making noise underneath it.

I was never able to cover Thomas with anything. He didn't like it, and he'd fight with it so much that it ended up making the fact that I was nursing more obvious. For us it just worked for me to wear a longish shirt and use that to cover myself as much as I could.

That would make it look far more obvious that your bf than not using it LOL

I just don't buy into the notion that women should have to feel the need to cover up. Breastfeeding is natural and tough titties to anyone who has a problem with it or a problem with the odd flash of a nipple.

ohhh my life- i swear we had a waterproof version of that for my grandmother to keep dry in her wheelchair after her stroke (her wearing it, not over her head :lmao ) ohhh yeah, Loki would love that (i think not- child starts snorting frantically and clamps gums together if my t-shirt as much as brushes him when nursing like he has immense fear of someone else stealing his nip :lmao )

I guess if you are a bit self-conscious, something like that might be a good idea, but how would you see what's going on with the baby shoved under your cape? It wouldn't help me breastfeed my little gymnast discreetly, though. Only a private room can help us these days, I'm afraid.

I actually like the idea of a coverup; I used one often with JZ so I could NIP. Maybe I'm not supposed to feel uncomfortable with flashing people but I do, so for me it's a matter of either using a coverup and feeling relaxed about NIP or not using one and feeling paranoid and uptight and possibly wanting to go hide in the car. I did eventually master the art of nursing without flashing if I was wearing a big t-shirt but a lot of the times when I go out I wear woven, button-up shirts or other things that have no "give" to the fabric and there's no way to nurse in those without just pulling them up above my bra line.

That said, though, that thing is WAY over the top. It's HUGE. There's really no reason to have one that big. I don't care if the baby's lower half sticks out; I just need something that covers up the business end of things. ;) Plus it says it's made of flannel -- can you say "heat stroke"? Yikes. I am getting a new coverup to use this time around and it's nice, lightweight stretchy cotton and looks kind of like a shawl. It does go around my neck but it's cut so that my arms stick out.

Anyway, I know that wearing a coverup lets everyone know what you're doing but I'm not trying to disguise the fact that I'm nursing; I'm just trying to keep myself covered up. For me it's also not a matter of everyone else needing to get over it. I don't care what they think; it's for me and my own comfort level that I do it.
