This was supposed to be a nice and fun family Sunday. Then I took our bed quilt down to the basement laundry room. We are renovating the laundry room, so there are a bunch of things stashed on the stairs down to it. Unfortunately, the quilt snagged a gallon bucket of the laundry room paint! It fell, knocked open, and splashed down the staircase, covering the quilt, some dirty laundry, the carpet on the stairs and ME!

CJ and I have spent most of our "fun Sunday" cleaning up. My wonderful DH got most of the paint off the carpet by using our carpet steamer in an odd way but I just can't get the paint off my pj's (which were new!), the dirty laundry, or our very nice bed quilt. (It was a wedding gift!) I've tried Goof Off! remover and now smell like turpentine. My own daughter is recoiling from me. I'm taking my sorry a** off to the grocery store. Crap. I don't have the money to replace all of this.

Oh, does that ever suck! I'm sorry.

(P.S., sounds like something that would happen to me.)

ohhhh, Polly! I'm so sorry! :( I've gotten paint on an awful lot of things since we moved here two years ago, and it's so frustrating.

Any joy with specialist cleaners? I've been looking online and apparently alot of how salvagable something is depends on the type of fabric, the colours and whether the paint was gloss or matt.
