Steve and I were talking about this, as his co-worker is trying to get his wife hired.
Neither of us thought it would be a good idea for us to work together, for several reasons. First off, absence makes the heart grow fonder, at least in our case. I can totally see us getting too much of each other if we worked in the same department. In addition, our personalities are not the best for working on things together...we just don't mesh very well when we try to coordinate on projects. :giggle We get a long a lot better if we have separate projects we can do on our own.
Also, I think it would just complicate our relationship. I can see me second-guessing things he says at work, and then feeling like I'd need to bite my tongue.
Realistically, we couldn't work together anyways, at least not for a long time, as someone needs to be here to take care of our kids. Daycare for four is out of the question!
I used to be Dave's manager. It was a part time gig for him and my full time job. It went ok but I wouldn't want to have to do it on a permanent basis. Since he has been home for 4 months now, we might as well be working together at this point. I am ready for him to go back to work. Hopefully one of his recent interviews will lead somewhere.

Eric always asks me when my business is going to get really big so he can quit his job and come work for me :giggle and I actually would really love that for several different reasons. I don't think we'd get sick of each other at all. :)

Dave and I both have very strong personalities and working together doesn't go very well. We've worked together on small around-the-house projects and we've had to learn the boundaries through trial and error. Most of the time one of us is stepping back and letting the other one do the job that needs to be done. I don't think we'd work very well together, but not because we'd be sick of each other. ;)

We've considered it, since we have similar but complementary skills. We're still considering it. We may incorporate and start a freelance business at some point. But it's hard for us to know. We do work well together, and we enjoy each other's company. But it might be distracting, and we also might have issues with working together in a money earning situation that we don't forsee now.
Basically, I need to manage to write and get a novel published that will make us a lot of money so we never need test the waters unless we want to. :p
I think it would be bad news if we tried to work together.

We work for the same company, but different branches. Its okay since we know what we are bitching about when we are bitching about work LOL
No, never full time. Maybe for a little bit part time, but I still couldn't see it working. I need my space!

Well we are in 2 totally unrelated industries, so I'm not sure how it would ever happen, but. I don't think it's the best idea, either ;)

Chris and I taught at the same school for 2 years, and that was too close for comfort. We work for the same school system, and have taught several of the same students. This, I can handle, but it wasn't a good thing in the same school.

Yes, this is our situation too. I actually think we'd work well together and I can't see us getting tired of each other's company.
I worked for my sister's husband for 6 years and that worked well.

We used to work together....I think part time it would be fine but a full time job might get overwhelming depending on the circumstances of the job.

Since CJ is an artist and I can't draw it would be bad news. Actually, I draw stick figures.

i have done in the past- worked with David at his business and with my parents at theirs and it's always worked pretty well for us, we're all pretty easy going personalities, only clash you get is me and my dad which is actually a positive thing as i'll merrily call him on it if he's slacking off which works well
working with David was great i have to say, always enjoyed it and could happily go back to it

No I don't think so. We both need our space. LOL When he is home too much (like when he is on leave we end up at each other's throats by the end of it LOL) I love him to death but no I don't think I would want to work with him and then come home to him. :giggle

We work well together, we're a great team and all that. I definitely would NOT work with him. LOL
Like Kristen said "absence makes the heart grow fonder". In the holidays he gets 4 weeks off at Christmas and by the end of it we can't really handle it. :giggle (Well, I can't. LOL)
