I can't believe this happened in the liberal haven of Seattle, WA.

Personally, I don't think they should sue but I think a personal apology from the driver might be in order.

It's good the driver apologized. If the bus company had a policy of kicking off anybody who was kissing/making out, that would be one thing, but it doesn't sound like that's the case.
I'm sure there are all sorts of things a passenger on the bus might complain about, from a crying baby to an interracial couple to somebody listening to music they don't like on an iPod. It's not the driver's business to kick people off a bus because passengers don't like something they are doing, unless the person is violating a rule.
On a side note, I once took a Greyhound from MI to NJ, and a passenger in the back of the bus was actually masturbating, while sitting next to a teenage girl travelling alone. I thought the bus driver would have called the police when they were made aware of the situation, but he didn't even kick the passenger off. He just had me switch seats with him (I guess I looked like somebody who wasn't going to masturbate in front of the girl :giggle). Given the things people get away with on public transportation, it just makes this all the more sad.

Personally, I think any couple playing tonsil hockey on public transportation should be kicked off. Get a room.
No, they shouldn't sue. But it wouldn't surprise me in the least if they do.

Hey-as long as the standard is the same for everyone, I have no problems.
It would be nice if the apology had actually come from the driver, as opposed to the transit authority official.
