TACOMA, Wash. (AP) - A Vancouver man was sentenced Friday to 13 months in prison for pretending to be mentally retarded in order to claim disability benefits.

I heard about this! I am glad he's getting jail time. The mother should too.
I am so happy about this. It is appalling to me when people take advantage of things that legitimate people truly need.

Okay, my math may be off a little, but he's gotten just under $60K in 10 years, right? Let's call that an even 6K a year, which gives us $500 a month. ARE YOU KIDDING ME? Is that worth it? Some people are so ridiculous :rolleyes His mother deserves time, too...

:rolleyes That is ridiculous and just plain wrong that he would fake something like that to claim disability. He and the mother both deserve to go to jail.
