How long does it take the average toddler to learn cause & effect for a given activity???

I am SO sick of Brayden doing the same thing over and over. Currently he's putting his toy cars in the cab of his dump truck and then crying because he can't get them out. Yesterday it was his monster trucks and his train.

Or could it be that my reaction the actual desired effect? Sneaky little booger that he is.....

Val, I have been wondering the same thing about Thomas. He is constantly repeating activities that either make him upset or get him into trouble.

Caleb does things like that sometimes and Isabella too. It can get frustrating to have to keep righting something for them.

Aidan still does that from time to time. Not so much with getting toys stuck but with getting into trouble. Colin is starting to a lot.

Well, Aj's officially a pre-schooler now and she STILL does this, so my guess would have to be - never! I think they go from toddlers who do it to preschoolers who do it! :rofl

Yep- very much a personality thing, Chase picked it up really quick, she wasn't going to waste her time on something non-productive (and at age 9 is still very much a motivated acheiver who never makes a mistake twice) but Jude- ugh, he is definately one for "ohhh look, did it again and it STILL had the same result, i know i'll try it once over" walk of life.
