I have never encountered this. Could someone please explain it to me? I understand that you get points for posts that people especially like, but is there any way to see which posts have been "repped" apart from the listing the most recent one?

I have 19 points, and I'd like to know where I've been especially clever!:haha

Right, click on your User CP and it under all your subscribed threads and forums info are your reps. It will display the last 10 or 15 you've received. Green boxes mean that it was a positive rep, red boxes mean that it was a negative one. Gray boxes mean that someone doesn't have enough rep power of their own for the rep to mean anything. Positive ones add points, Negative ones subtract points. Gray ones don't do anything.

It's very complicated the way your "Rep Power" is determined. It's a base number that is then multiplied/added with different "instances" to make your full rep power: how many days you have been a member, how many posts you have, how many reps you've given, how many reps you've received and I think there's another one or two factors in there.

It's all just in fun. It's anonymous unless you sign your name. You don't have to leave a comment. When the person sees it in their User CP, it will show you the thread that you were repped on and if you click on the link, it takes you to the exact post you were repped. It's nice to leave little messages for others. Maybe you're too shy to say something on the board, say it in a rep. Or, use it to leave a negative comment. We try to do that sparingly, if at all, though. As you can see from teh last few days, if someone gets a negative rep, the usual behavior is to throw a hissy fit on the boards and attract attention.

I've received my fair share of them and I don't think I've ever posted a thread specifically for "Hey you, the one that neg repped me, f*** you!". It's a rep. It's not the end of the world. But it is nice to get a positive rep. ;)

Hope that explains them a bit. Let me know if you have any other questions :D

Thanks Brooke. That answers my question about the grey box.

I have always wondered about that. Thanks for clearing it up Brooke.
