View Full Version : What's your favorite way to watch TV shows?
How do you like to watch TV shows? Do you like to watch them on TV each week? Download them? Watch a season all at once on DVD?
We get awful reception, and not many channels, so I usually end up downloading. Plus, I hate commercials and shows are rarely on at a time when I want to sit and watch TV. I prefer watching TV show seasons on DVD, though. I like them better if I can watch the whole thing in the course of a week or so.

That is how we watch. Right now we d/l Battlestar Galactica and Heroes only because the US is way ahead of Ireland and we can't wait. We no longer d/l Lost because we have caught up to the US.
And then there are seasons of Angel, Buffy and ER that I love to watch straight through on DVD. Same for The Sopranoes and Scrubs.

We download shows or watch them on DVD. We don't have an actual television, so those are our options. I prefer it anyway for a number of reasons, namely that there's not another show on when it ends, so I can't as easily get caught up and just watch whatever's next. I also HATE commercials and like avoiding them.

Most shows I prefer to watch live, as they happen. I love waiting a week for a new episode and then having to wait each commercial (I'm strange). EXCEPT for American Idol. I've learned that I can watch a 2 hour episode of AI in about 25 minutes by fast forwarding through all the nonsense. All I need to hear is them sing and the judges reaction. I do usually DVR the shows I'm most interested in so I can easily replay if kids interrupt. ;)

Download or DVD. I DVR a few things, but mostly my TV is a silent electronic box.

It really depends. Like Emmerdale, it comes every single day for years now! So I would never find it anywhere to download LOL But others, I just download, or buy all the seasons and watch it.

I usually only watch things on TiVo. I record every show I want to watch and then watch them at my leisure. I've found that even if I'm available to watch something when it's on "live", I won't. LOL I'll watch soemthing else first or do something else and then watch it later so I can fast-forward through all the commercials.
I've only watched a d/l show twice, when my TiVo didn't record it. ;)

I prefer to watch it on TV. I surf the net while the commercials are on.:giggle
