and it was GORGOUS, infact it was so gorgous, I could not even imagine living there LOL (I say this to make myself feel better)
We decided to stay put for a while and when we refinance get enough money to redo our house properly (kitchen, bathroom, the WHOLE downstairs, new floors upstairs, new windows in the back of the house, redo our deck).
but OMG, that house was so gorgous. The suite was too small, unfortunately, which would not give us the rental income needed to support a crazy mortgage and every time I thought of it, I got a little sick to my stomach (to purchas a $720K home), plus all the fees and headaches involved with moving.
so yeah, we are going to try and stay put :giggle
but that house had wainscotting throughout the whole house. It kind of looked like a craftman style home (is that the right term, with the higher wainscotting), it had antiqued, stressed pine floors, tile everywhere else, a GORGOUS MASTER SUITE, but no walk in closet, just two huge seperate closets. Kitchen was to die for, but it did not include appliances (another $3-5K), plus the appliances for the suite too. I would not really have a decent spot to have a studio (I could convert the garage, but lose out on the storage then).
So yeah, we are going to focus on updating this home instead. It will only increase the property value. I think by next year, if we update this home, we could get $650K for it. This is a hot area and the fact that we have four bedrooms, HUGE family room, decent yard and by then will have a new kitchen, etc, it will be all good.
