Our pastor is starting a new sermon series in 2 weeks and I'm interested to see if anyone has any questions to add to his list.;) I plan on posting each week in my blog the links to the sermons online.
Anyways, the series is titled The Struggle to Believe Today's Questions About Christian Faith. The questions he's listed that he's goingto tackle are~ How can Christianity claim to be the truth for everyone? If god is good why is there so much suffering in the world? Isn't the Bible historically unreliable and regressive? Is Christian faith intolerant, homophobic and oppressive? hasn't the Christian faith been an instrument of injustice in the world?
Are there any questions you'd like to add to that? He's very interested in hearing more questions. :)

I am not sure if this falls sort of under the questions already listed. My main question I have about Christian faith is this:
If Christianity is supposed to be the one faith, why is it not accepting to others? Why does there seem so much judgement in the Christian faith when its supposed to be based on Love?

I'll email this to my pastor Jenny. All questions are welcome. ;)

I've always wondered why God would make us imperfect. Adam and Eve seemed basically made to fail by giving them free will, curiosity, and temptation. Since they were innocent of the knowledge of good and bad, the idea that going against God was *wrong* wouldn't have occurred to them, so why was disobedience given such a weighty punishment?
If a 8 month old was fascinated by a the shiny edges of a knife blade, we might say "NO! Don't touch" but would we really blame the baby if he reached over and grabbed it anyway? Free will, sure. Understanding of the consequences, not at all.
These are kind of an unfair question because there are many, many answers to them within Christianity, but they're question I personally find interesting and am always interested in hearing different views on.
If God is all-powerful in the sense of being in control of everything and knowing in advance everything that will ever happen, then how can human beings be said to have free will? If God already knows in advance what we are going to do, and God made us with the nature that is what causes us to do what we do, then can we be making free choices? And if God already knows in advance what we are going to do, and has chosen to cause it to happen that way even though he could have caused things to happen differently, then doesn't the primary responsibility for our bad actions, as well as our good, lie with God?
Also, is it just for God to punish sins committed by finite human being during a finite lifetime infinitely after death?

I've forwarded these on.
I have one. don't be offended. :) Just me asking
One thing I've noticed and one of the main issues I have with the christian faith is the ammount of hypocrasy (sp?)
How does the christian faith deal with and respond to the hypocracy that seems to be prevelant these days? Everything from divorce to homosexual behavior.
I hope that was ok to ask. :)
