:lmao Oh my goodness. He must have been very heavily under the influence of something. First to play that kind of game with the cops then to find them when they don't find him. :rolleyes what a weirdo!
LOL That guy's just a nutcase- I'm fairly certian he would be crazy even if he wasnt' drunk.
In the past the springs was ALL over the traffic violations, I guess it's a bigger city now than it was 10 years ago :rofl But back then you couldn't run a red light or go 5 mph over the limit without getting pulled over.

SERIOUSLY... I honestly can't wrap my head around that one. I've done some pretty dumb things... but WALKING UP to officers who've set out on a chase for your bum that YOU instigated??? That's over my head.

In all honestly the "hints" that I heard wouldn't have been much help. He described a super common car on the largest non-interstate in the city during a busy time of day. Academy literally runs the entire length of the town from north to south so telling them "I'm on Academy near a grocery store" wouldn't be much help.

You are correct. Colorado Springs is where I live.. and I hate to admit it, but it was hard not to giggle at this guy when listening to the calls being played back on the news. NOT that it was funny.. but the Nerve this dude had!!
And yeah.. Academy runs from one end of town to the other and there are who knows how many grocery stores on that road or right off of that road.
Thursdays here are club nights for a looooot of people and they were following him with the chopper around the Briargate area which is up north- I actually used to work up there(my infamous job that I hated for so long... right smack dab in the middle of the briargate area). So I'm not surprised at All that they couldn't find him right away. I think it's great that they found him at all and it didn't take longer than it did. This town is busy busy busy and there are a lot of wacko's driving around this town.
Val.. they still try to stay on top of the traffic stuff, but I've noticed for the past couple of years they tend to focus a lot on the construction areas(after we had all those accidents because of the work at woodmen and I-25). They even had cops dress up as construction workers a few times to catch people flying through the construction areas. Everyone around here goes on about how they think there are so many terrible drivers here because it's such a mix with all the military bases here. But I disagree. Everyone out there thinks they're a good driver. And everyone out there has made poor driving decisions at one point or another. With the amount of people in this town.. the traffic drama is going to happen no matter what.

Probably becusae he was so obviously wasted they were worried he would do something even more stupid and hurt people, esp. since he kept calling LOL
